The Avenger name returns to the line-up for 2009 to replace the mid-size front-wheel-drive Stratus sedan, and offers many sporty features and standard equipment found in higher class vehicles. Dodge also introduces the Challenger, a modern interpretation of the classic American muscle coupe, for 2009. The Dodge Grand Caravan has been redesigned and is now only available in the longer wheelbase version. The Durango adds a hybrid version to its lineup. The muscular Viper will probably meet its demise in 2009 due to soaring fuel prices. The Ram 1500 adds a new more powerful and more efficient 4.7-liter V8 while the Ram 2500 and 3500 add a new SXT model.

Like its parent, DaimlerChyrsler, Dodge is quite competitive in offering discounts. These generally take the form of low APRs and cash allowances. Although, you’ll tend to only find these on slow selling models.

Dodge’s newest sales strategy guarantees consumers will only pay $2.99 per gallon of fuel for the next three years if they purchase a Dodge Vehicle. This incentive provides buyers with a discount card that can be used at any gas station for the purchase of regular, E85 ethanol or diesel. The card reduces the price of fuel to $2.99 per gallon and the Chrysler Corporation is supposed to pay the difference.
