For 2008, the Accord has been completely redesigned, boasting more safety features, more spacious rear seating for the sedan, and a more powerful engine. The Civic adds an EX-L trim, available with optional navigation system, and standard tire pressure monitoring on all trims. Also, Honda introduces the Si Mugen sedan, which is a joint venture by Honda and Mugen Motorsports. The Odyssey gets a refresh with an updated engine and revised grille. The S2000 gets significant changes to its wheel design, suspension and gauge layout. A limited edition Honda S2000 CR ("Club Racer") will be released for 2008.

Honda has a reputation for balking at cash-back and rebates because of the negative impact on resale values, as seen with the domestics. Therefore, Honda's incentives take the form of lease deals and lowered APRs.

Honda has been doing quite well in the awards department. The Civic has been recognized as the Motor Trend Car of the Year and the North American Car of the Year. The Ridgeline, Honda’s truck, has received these major accolades as well. In addition, the manufacturer has bolstered its reputation for reliability and value by taking 4 out of the 10 Consumer Reports top 2006 picks, and earning Automotive Lease Guide’s Industry Brand Residual Value Award, which recognizes the manufacturer whose vehicles are predicted to retain the highest percentage of their original price.
