Mitsubishi
Mitsubishi is the fourth largest auto-manufacturer in Japan and has been in existence since 1917. A division of the massive Japanese conglomerate that also makes TVs, Mitsubishi Motors has been selling in the U.S. for more than two decades. In recent years, Mitsubishi has been struggling with U.S. sales and are hoping the release of redesigned models such as the Eclipse Spyder and Lancer Evolution can revive their market.

Changes in the Mitsubishi Cars Line-Up

A new convertible version called the Eclipse Spyder went on sale in 2006 as a 2007 model. A Ralliart version of the Galant was released for 2007. Its 3.8 liter engine puts out 258 horsepower, 28 more than the Galant GTS, plus it gets a sport-tuned suspension. All Galants get exterior and interior styling tweaks, standard side-curtain airbags and a host of new options including a GPS-linked navigation system, Rockford Acoustic Design stereo and SIRIUS satellite radio.

All Mitsubishi 2007 passenger and sport utility vehicles receive extensive warranties. This list is headed by a 10-year/100,000 mile powertrain limited warranty, a 5-year/60,000 mile fully transferable bumper-to-bumper new vehicle limited warranty, a 7-year/100,000 mile anti-corrosion/perforation limited warranty and 5-years/unlimited miles roadside assistance.
News on Mitsubishi Cars

Mitsubishi and DaimlerChrysler (DCX) parted ways this year, as DCX liquidated its partial ownership stake in the Mitsubishi Motors division. The two still seem on good terms, however, and are sharing custody of at least a couple of models, which they had planned to produce jointly. The 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer, for example, will share the Chrysler PT Cruiser's underpinnings, and DCX still manufactures the Raider truck for Mitsubishi. The Mitsubishi Galant, on the other hand, is more in limbo; it’s unclear whether DCX will help develop the redesign due the Galant by 2009 or 2010.
