For 2007, the 350Z gets a new 3.5 liter V6 from Nissan's VQ engine family, along with new paint color choices. The Altima has been completely redesigned by Nissan. Powertrain choices include a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder engine and a new VQ-series 3.5 liter V6. 6-speed manuals are standard for both engines; an optional continuously-variable transmission replaces the traditional automatic and a hybrid version will be introduced later in the year. The Maxima gets freshened styling and an upgraded interior. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) is standard. The Sentra is also completely redesigned for 2007, it is larger and more aggressively styled. A new entry-level Nissan, called the Versa, is available in both sedan and hatchback body styles. The hatchback includes seat-mounted side airbags for the front seat and side curtain airbags for both front and rear seats.

Nissan offers a nice mix of incentives to get people into their cars. These discounts usually include cash backs, rebates and financing specials. Traditionally, there are a couple big sales events throughout the course of the year.

Despite recent successes, Nissan is at work changing its product offerings slightly to cater to consumer demand. The automaker has stated that it does not believe hybrids make good business sense because they are too expensive, but will produce a hybrid Altima in 2007. The automaker is looking to add a smaller crossover for the 2008 or 2009 model year, based on the Versa, to beef up its small car offerings. Also, Nissan is looking into launching a full-sized van to compete with GM and Ford's mainstays, which hold nearly 95 percent of market share.
