Spyker Cars N.V. is a Dutch hand-built automobile manufacturer, not related to or controlled by the previous Spyker company that went bankrupt in 1929. The modern Spyker Cars only has the legal right to the brand name. The reborn company was founded by Victor Muller and Maarten de Bruijn, and since 2000 the company has been building exclusive sports cars like the C8 and the C8 Laviolette.

For the first time since its founding in 2000, The Dutch supercar maker Spyker finally made a profit, according to Reuters. The company sold 43 cars in the first six months of 2006 — compared to just eight cars during the same period in 2005. Operational cash flow was over 1.3 million euros as of June 30th Spyker executives said. The company hopes to have 100 cars shipped for the year by the end of 2006.
